Job summary

Geffen Academy at UCLA is seeking a part-time Math Educator to deliver instruction in Calculus, Advanced Pre-Calculus, and Advanced Algebra 2. Working under the Math Department Chair, you will design courses, lead engaging lessons, and contribute to the school community.

The position is 80% FTE, term-based and ends June 2027. Collaboration with colleagues and participation in math placement and parent meetings are essential components of the role.

Qualifications

• Familiarity and ability to teach Calculus, Advanced Pre-Calculus, and Advanced Algebra 2.
• Background in classroom instruction and ability to engage diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Educators to build a Geffen Academy program.
• Communicate student progress to relevant colleagues and advisors.
• Participate in department representation at parent meetings and math placements.
• Evaluate and select books and digital resources.
• Assess course offerings for ongoing relevance and success.
• Participate in committee work and interdisciplinary instructional programs.
• Mentor students on independent projects and supervise exams.
• Provide coverage for instructional absences and engage in professional development.
