Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Mat Pilates Instructor to build positive relationships with members and lead safe, effective Mat Pilates classes that enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. You will greet participants, guide workouts, and ensure a supportive, engaging class environment.

The role requires a nationally accredited Mat Pilates certification, CPR/First Aid, and 1+ year of class-leading experience.

Qualifications

• Nationally Accredited Mat Pilates Certification required.
• 1+ year of experience leading Mat Pilates classes preferred.
• All required trainings within 90 days from date of hire.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (Adult/Child/Infant) required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive member experience through welcoming participants and ensuring they are actively engaged in their workout.
• Provide a safe workout routine by demonstrating proper form and technique, appropriate modifications, and cueing.
• Maintain a clean and safe workout area.
• Effectively utilize scheduled class time.
• Properly set up and breakdown class equipment in allotted timeframe.
• Build community through forming positive relationships by learning names and helping members reach their Health & Wellness Goals.
• Adhere to YMCA guidelines and core functions of group exercise classes.
• Physical ability to lead and participate in exercise/fitness activities.
• Communicate effectively with large and small groups.
