Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids is hiring a Market Grille Cook for part-time shifts. You will prepare hot and cold items, stock the display case, and deliver friendly service in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

No prior experience required beyond high school or equivalent; we provide training. You’ll work as part of a team focused on quality food and customer satisfaction, with a flexible schedule and opportunities to learn the Market Grille operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; we will provide all the training you need to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods, and heat-and-eat varieties.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout your shift.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to keep the department running smoothly.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Market Grille operation.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep your work area clean and organized at all times.
• Order product and supplies as needed or notify department managers of any needs.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
