Job summary

The University of Florida is seeking a Part-Time UF/IFAS 4-H Camp Timpoochee Environmental Education Educator to deliver hands-on marine and environmental education to K-12 students through day camps, residential programs, and outreach.

You will teach pre-designed curricula, assist with animal care, help maintain facilities, and support dining hall duties as needed. Two seasonal terms are available; housing may be provided on-site, and certifications such as First Aid and CPR are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent is minimum requirements
• Bachelor's degree preferred in sciences, education, natural resources, youth development or related fields
• Background screening required prior to hire
• Valid driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach, organize, and evaluate programs focused on marine resources to grades K-12 through day, residential, and outreach programs
• Provide programmatic support to maintain and increase marine and environmental education classes and materials
• Assist with education animal care
• Help maintain clean facilities used for educational programs on-site
• May assist with dining hall duties for on-site programs
