Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Tech 3 to assist in developing manufacturing processes, work instructions, and layouts for fabrication. You will identify improvements, respond to production issues, and work with maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.

The role requires a high school diploma with additional related education/experience, strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing, and the ability to interpret 2D drawings. U.S. citizenship is required; part-time schedule (<20 hrs/wk) and travel up to 10% may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of related education or experience.
• Part-time position with less than 20 hours per week.
• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and production processes.
• Ability to interpret 2D drawings.
• Computer skills include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to interact effectively with external customers and all plant personnel.
• Comfortable presenting to peers and senior leadership.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist to develop manufacturing processes, work instructions and production layouts to fabricate the product.
• Identify process improvements and incorporate changes into the manufacturing process.
• Respond to technical production issues associated with the product being fabricated.
• Work with maintenance staff to troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
• Assist in establishing safety requirements for facilities and equipment.
• Work in a multifunctional team to solve production related issues.
• Collaborate with Quality and Product Engineering to resolve MRB items quickly.
• Analyze processes and equipment for capabilities and downtime.
• Analyze yield and scrap rate data to improve processes.
• Determine root cause and corrective actions for discrepancies.
