Job summary

Oakland Unified School District is seeking a Manhood Development Facilitator at Skyline High School to deliver the Manhood Development coursework and foster academic, emotional, and social growth for African American male students. The role supports the district’s VRP initiative and aligns with equity goals, reporting to the High School Administrator and Site Principal.

Part-time position, typically 1–2 class periods daily, five days a week, for the 2026-2027 year, at a high school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of mentoring/advocacy experience with African American male youth preferred.
• Experience addressing institutional racism and anger management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with students and families and connect academics to lived experiences.
• Help students achieve program outcomes: lifelong learning, EQ, and school navigation.
• Identify and adapt instructional resources for diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with families and professionals.
• Collaborate with peers to improve instructional environment.
• Mentor students in subsequent years to supplement counseling services.
