Job summary

Paramark Corp in Iowa City, IA is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Part-Time Maintenance Technician. You will oversee daily maintenance operations and contribute to the upkeep of the property under supervision of the Property Manager and Regional Manager.

The role requires experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical work, plus familiarity with hand and power tools. You will document work, handle safety standards, and interact professionally with

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical, etc.
• Experience with hand tools including tape measure, square, level, hand saw, chisel, cutters, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
• Experience with power tools, including grinders, drills, various saws, rotary hammers, sanders, routers, planers, nail guns, air compressors, etc.
• Experience with mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, etc.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to use email

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and performing minor and routine maintenance in a timely fashion
• Ensure all service requests are completed daily
• Accurately document work performed through our electronic work order system
• Inspect vacated units and create make-ready checklists
• Complete special projects as assigned and prioritized by the Property Manager
• Inspect the exterior of the property for needed preventative maintenance or repairs
• Complete or oversee the completion of the preventative maintenance or repairs
• Order parts and supplies and maintain inventory
• Obtain bids and negotiate pricing from outside vendors and contractors
• Perform emergency maintenance (after hours) as needed
• Coordinate with the Property Manager daily
• Perform and report on all work according to the safety standards of the company, OSHA, and health codes
• Keep work areas clean and tidy daily
• Promote positive public relations with residents, co-workers, and company staff through a friendly and courteous attitude.
