Job summary

Inspired Living in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to perform interior and exterior maintenance, handle routine repairs, and respond to resident requests while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Requirements include 1–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems in healthcare facilities. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical in healthcare facilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to communicate verbally in person and over the phone.

Responsibilities

• Maintains scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord equipment.
• Performs general maintenance projects including plumbing and electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
• Responds to maintenance requests by residents for repairs in rooms including plumbing, electrical, heating, and light bulbs replacement.
• Repairs and maintains vacated rooms, including painting walls and cleaning carpets.
• Ensures walls, floors, doors, and woodwork in common areas are well maintained.
• Maintains communication with local authorities (fire marshal, building inspector, elevator inspector).
• Repairs walls, floors, doors, and woodwork in common areas.
• Assesses plumbing and electrical problems and determines best course of action.
• Works within local and state codes; documents safety issues and SDS when needed.
• Assesses property damage and files claims per company policy.
• Responds to management/community emergencies as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
