Job summary

Ojai Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for a part-time position in Ojai, CA. You will maintain grounds, facility, and equipment to ensure safety and comfort for residents.

Responsibilities include following maintenance schedules, reporting incidents, coordinating with nursing services, and performing routine repairs such as lighting, plumbing, and HVAC tasks. The role requires practical hands-on skills and compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th grade education.
• Ability to follow instructions and make independent decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with residents and staff.
• Able to manage supplies and maintain tidy work areas.
• Willing to adopt new maintenance practices.
• Basic math for fractions, percentages and ratios.
• Good problem solving and interpretation of written instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, facility, and equipment.
• Report accidents/incidents to supervisor immediately.
• Coordinate maintenance with nursing services in resident areas.
• Follow maintenance schedules and policies.
• Replace light bulbs and clean areas as directed.
• Service HVAC units as needed and ensure safety compliance.
• Keep work areas clean and secured at shift end.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
