Qualifications

  • Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping, or maintenance experience required.
  • Experience operating commercial lawn care and snow removal equipment preferred.
  • Experience with general home maintenance or rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Experience with carpentry, painting, flooring, drywall, plumbing, and general repairs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain community curb appeal by mowing, trimming, weed control, edging, and general landscaping of vacant lots, common areas, and other company-maintained property.
  • Perform snow plowing, snow removal, and ice control to keep community roads, sidewalks, and common areas safe during winter weather.
  • Monitor the property for maintenance concerns and promptly address issues affecting the appearance, safety, and operation of the community.
  • Complete work orders, including basic plumbing repairs, unclogging sewer lines (using company-provided equipment), and other general maintenance requests.
  • Assist with the rehabilitation of company-owned manufactured homes, including demolition, painting, flooring, drywall repair, carpentry, trim work, fixture installation, and general repairs.
  • Replace and repair water meters and assist with utility-related maintenance throughout the community.
  • Operate lawn equipment, snow removal equipment, and other maintenance equipment safely; backhoe experience is preferred but not required.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
  • Assist with community improvement projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Be available for occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance requests, particularly during severe weather events.

Job description

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to support the operations of our manufactured home community in Akron, Ohio. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining the community's appearance through landscaping, snow removal, and general maintenance while assisting with home rehabilitation projects and work orders as needed.

Anticipated Start Date: Mid-September 2026.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with residential electrical troubleshooting and repairs is highly preferred.
  • An active electrical license or other skilled trade certification is a plus.
  • Additional compensation may be considered for candidates with licensed electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other advanced trade experience.
  • Hourly pay of $27
