Job summary

The Salvation Army Port Charlotte Corps is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician in Port Charlotte, FL. This role performs routine cleaning, repairs, and grounds maintenance across facilities, vehicles, and outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities include plumbing, carpentry, inventory management, and safe operation of maintenance tools. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of maintenance experience, with ability to work outdoors in varying weather and lift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment
• Equivalent combination of training and experience accepted

Responsibilities

• Performs routine building maintenance and minor plumbing/carpentry repairs
• Maintains Salvation Army vehicles and monitors fluids
• Keeps grounds mowed, hedges trimmed, debris cleared and grounds beautified
• Cleans and maintains interior spaces including restrooms, kitchens, dining areas, floors and windows
• Manages cleaning supplies and inventory; moves office furniture as needed
• Drives to collect materials and repair items for maintenance
• Monitors lighting and changes bulbs; maintains all tools and equipment
• Ensures security by monitoring building and grounds and reporting unsafe conditions
