Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will oversee grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure HVAC and electrical systems function reliably.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong safety practices, and the ability to respond quickly to requests. Qualified candidates typically have 2+ years in hotel maintenance, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and carpentry, and may have college or trade training in

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
  • One year of college or trade school equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees property grounds, public areas and guest rooms.
  • Performs preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintains HVAC, electrical components, and lighting.
  • Responds to maintenance orders promptly and completes work orders.
  • Completes daily rounds and reports problems.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
  • Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
  • Paints, replaces electrical accessories, maintains HVAC
  • Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
  • Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
  • Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
  • Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
  • Perform various other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
  • Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
  • Excellent time management skills
