Job summary

Spring Arbor Senior Living - Wilson, 2045 Ward Boulevard NW, Wilson, North Carolina, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in maintaining the property's physical aspects and safe operations.

Pay is $16.50 per hour with experience-based adjustments; same day pay is available. The position requires 1 year of maintenance experience, knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC, strong communication, independence, and a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year maintenance experience including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC knowledge.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Independent worker with good communication and multitasking abilities.
• Drug-free workplace; adherence to company policy on drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Director to cover the community in emergencies.
• Support preventive and routine maintenance of mechanical equipment, structures and grounds.
• Perform routine inspections of mechanical systems and safety procedures.
• Keep maintenance and storage areas clean, organized and safe.
• Assist with online work order system and delegation of tasks to staff.

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist the Maintenance Director (MD) in maintaining and operating the physical aspects of the Property.

Location: Spring Arbor of Wilson

Pay: $16.50/hr higher depending on years of experience!!

Same Day Pay

Areas of Responsibility

• Assist the MD to ensure that the Community is always covered in the event of an emergency.
• Assist the MD in the preventative and routine maintenance programs to ensure that mechanical equipment, building structures and grounds are properly maintained.
• Assist the MD in the safe operation of all mechanical equipment through routine physical inspections.
• Assist MD to ensure that all maintenance work and storage areas are maintained in a safe, organized, and clean manner.
• Assist MD in maintaining online work order system, efficiently use the system and help delegate work orders to staff.
• Follow OSHA and Company guidelines relating to lock down and tag out procedures that are approved for the Community and follow OSHA standards for safe working procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one (1) year maintenance-related experience including working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Must be an independent worker with effective communication skills able to multi-task and be organized.
• Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
• The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school diploma preferred.
• HVAC and other related maintenance certifications desirable.
