Job summary

Mad Science of Hampton Roads is seeking a part-time After School Program Instructor to guide hands-on science activities for children aged 5-11. Classes run Monday to Friday between 2:30 and 5:00 pm, with typical pay of $19 per hour and 6-10 hours per week.

As a Mad Scientist, you will lead demonstrations, help kids explore matter, rockets, lasers, slime, and other STEM activities, inspiring curiosity through inquiry-based learning. No degree required; college students encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children ages 5-11 is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Available to work at least 2 afternoons/week 2:30-5:00 pm.
• Training starts in September; Fall sessions begin mid-September/early October.

Responsibilities

• Travel to local public and private schools to conduct classes.
• Lead hands-on science activities and demonstrations for students.
• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons to children aged 5-11.
