A mission-driven residential behavioral health and substance use treatment organization in Dallas, TX, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and proactive Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join its clinical team on a part-time basis.
This is a direct-care nursing role supporting the health, safety, and well‑being of individuals receiving treatment for substance use and related behavioral health needs. As the organization prepares to expand its services to include detox, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing medical team and help strengthen nursing coverage.
The ideal candidate is a team player who demonstrates sound clinical judgment, takes initiative, and is comfortable working in a collaborative, recovery-focused treatment environment. Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or detox is strongly preferred.
Provide direct nursing care to residents, promoting their health, safety, and overall well‑being.
Monitor residents' physical health, assess changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical or medical personnel.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and applicable regulations.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential nursing documentation, including medication administration records and clinical observations.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the treatment team to support coordinated patient care.
Support residents with medical needs that may arise during treatment and escape urgent concerns appropriately.
Follow infection control procedures, medication safety standards, and organizational policies.
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals in recovery.
Contribute to the development of medical coverage and nursing workflows as the organization prepares to expand into detox services.
Assist with additional nursing coverage on a voluntary basis when available, including planned PTO coverage or occasional staffing needs.
Current, active Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing.
Experience in direct patient care and medication administration.
Strongly preferred experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, residential treatment, or detox settings.
Knowledge of nursing documentation, medication safety, and patient monitoring.
Strong communication, organization, and clinical observation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Dependable, self‑motivated, adaptable, and committed to providing compassionate, respectful care.
Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Occasional additional shifts may be available for nurses interested in picking up extra hours to cover planned PTO or unexpected staffing gaps. These shifts are voluntary, based on availability, and offered with advance notice whenever possible. This position does not require on‑call availability.
This is an opportunity for an LVN who enjoys hands‑on patient care and wants to make a meaningful impact in a recovery‑focused setting. Candidates with a team‑oriented mindset, a willingness to take initiative, and an interest in supporting the growth of medical and detox services are encouraged to apply.
