Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Part Time Server at Becca Restaurant & Garden, The Historic Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach. You will provide attentive guest service, take and input orders via POS, and ensure accuracy from greeting to checkout.

The role emphasizes teamwork, knowledge of menu items, and the ability to carry trays and manage beverage service while upholding hospitality standards. Training and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their duties; be a team player.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport large trays up to 30lbs through a crowded room.
• Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; adapt style to audiences.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.

Responsibilities

• Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials or promotions.
• Record the details of the order from guests, repeating order to ensure accuracy.
• Input the order into the POS to inform the kitchen of order details.
• Retrieve orders up to 30 lbs, confirm accuracy, and deliver to guests with condiments.
• Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements for serving alcohol.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
• Market and serve dessert items or specialty coffees upon request.
• Operate POS procedures to pre-check orders and close out checks.
• Present the check to guests promptly.
• Meet attendance requirements and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
