Job summary

The Verland Foundation Inc. in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time, 24-hour schedule. The role supports exceptional care for residents under the DON, with shifts 6am–6:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities include administering medications, daily assessments, and documentation; collaborating with the IDT, and supporting physician visits. Benefits and equal opportunity employment are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess working knowledge of professional standards and current nursing trends.
• Ability to comprehend individuals’ records and physicians’ orders and communicate information effectively.
• Must establish working relationships with other members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
• Must document individuals’ care in a comprehensive manner according to professional and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document the prescribed medications and treatments.
• Assess the physical status of individuals daily and report any unusual behavior or condition to the Charge Nurse.
• Assist with physician visits as assigned.
• Document care given to individuals on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Develop and implement health care plans for assigned individuals as a member of the IDT and attend staffing/ITR reviews as a contributing member.
• Participate in Nursing Department committee meetings as assigned.
• LPN will not insert nasogastric tube or obtain physicians' orders.
• Perform other related duties as required.
