Job summary

The GEO Group operates a licensed practical nurse (LPN) role in our correctional healthcare program in Arizona. You will work alongside the RN to deliver high-quality nursing care to inmates, including assessments, medication administration, and care coordination.

The position requires an LPN license, 2+ years experience preferred, and the ability to work independently with electronic medical records and security protocols in a secure facility.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; must have a current, unrestricted LPN license in the facility's state.

Responsibilities

Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the appropriate physician.
Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and report problems to management.
Securely administer medication, with precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking.
Follow industry and company accreditation policies.
Document all detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
