Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work on-site providing high-quality nursing care to inmates under the supervision of an RN. You will develop care plans, perform assessments, administer medications, and document clinical information in a secure environment.

Minimum requirements include an accredited nursing program graduate with an active LPN license and at least two years of direct nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current, unrestricted LPN license to practice in the state of the facility.
• Two years of direct work experience as an LPN preferred.
• Ability to perform crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, and psychiatric nursing care.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the physician.
• Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms and report problems to management.
• Document detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
