Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking an LPN to work on-site in Arizona, providing nursing care to inmates under RN supervision. The role includes care planning, assessments, medication administration, and confidential record-keeping.

Requirements include an accredited nursing program graduate with a valid AZ LPN license and preferred two years of direct nursing experience in corrections or medical settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Must have a current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Arizona.
• Two years of direct work experience as an LPN preferred.
• Ability to work independently and perform nursing diagnoses with follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessments and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the physician.
• Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and report problems to management.
• Document detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
