Job summary

Hanover County Government is seeking a part-time Logistics Assistant to support inventory and logistics operations in the department's warehouse and administration facility. The role involves reading orders, moving items, inspecting stock, and ensuring orderly storage.

Responsibilities include assembling orders, maintaining records, and assisting with physical counts. The position is non-benefited and hourly, with a focus on safe, efficient material handling and basic warehousing tasks.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of basic inventory practices and procedures.
• Ability to maintain inventory records and perform basic math.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate a PC and related software, plus warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and requisitions to determine items to move or ship.
• Maintain department logistics inventory and inspect items for accuracy and damage.
• Move materials from receiving to shipping or designated areas.
• Sort and store materials on racks or bins by code or type.
• Assemble orders and place them on pallets or staging areas.
• Record materials received or distributed in the computer system.
• Assist in counting physical inventory and complete requisitions.
