Job summary

Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas, seeks a part-time livestock judging coach to assist the Head Coach with training, travel, and competition schedules. Qualifications

• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Experience working with students in a coaching or leadership capacity preferred.
• Collegiate livestock judging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in all aspects of the livestock judging program, including training, travel and competition schedules.
• Provide hands-on instruction in livestock evaluation and oral reasons.
• Develop student skills in animal science, communication and critical thinking.
• Foster a competitive, professional and educational team environment.
• Ensure compliance with institutional and competition regulations.
• Assist in recruiting high quality student-judges via outreach to high schools, FFA and industry events.
• Promote the livestock judging program through visits, contests and college events.
• Collaborate with Admissions and Student Affairs to support enrollment and housing placement.
• Monitor academic performance and support student success and retention.
• Collaborate with faculty to connect students to transfer or career opportunities.
