Job summary

City of Apple Valley, MN is seeking a Liquor Sales Clerk for Liquor Store 3 to provide friendly, timely service and process transactions accurately. The role includes stocking, maintaining displays, checking IDs, and compliance with alcohol/tobacco regulations.

This part-time, variable-hour position requires strong math, cash handling, and excellent communication. Shifts include day and evening hours, with background checks after an offer.

Qualifications

• MinimumRequirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Basic knowledge of retail sales and money handling.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to work with numbers.
• Ability to meet and interact positively with the public on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
• Must receive acceptable result of background check.

Responsibilities

• Check identification to determine eligibility to purchase liquor.
• Wait on customers: find items, recommend items, carry merchandise to vehicles.
• Operate POS system; ring up sales, process payments, give change.
• Stock, rotate liquor, beer, wine; set up displays; lift cases up to 50 pounds.
• Perform store cleaning and upkeep; tidy displays, dust, vacuum, sweep.
• Perform other duties as assigned by City staff.
