Job summary

Anchor Bay School District is seeking a part-time Lifeguard for the Anchor Bay Aquatic Center in New Baltimore, Michigan. The role features up to 25 hours per week and requires ARC lifeguarding, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and the ability to supervise swimmers and enforce safety rules.

Responsibilities include enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and performing opening/closing duties. Applicants must be 18+ and pass a background check; some experience with children is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/AED.
• Successful completion of written and water test.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Familiar with computer program on-line Active Server (will train).
• Be prepared and proficient in all Emergency Action Plans (community and school use).
• Must be responsible, dependable and enjoy working with people of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Regular and reliable in person attendance is essential.
• Ensure safety of all swimmers by taking precautionary measures and enforcing rules.
• Wear On-Guard uniform and carry provided equipment.
• Ability to work with children.
• Perform rescues and basic first aid when necessary.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
