Job summary

The Lifeguard position at the YMCA is part-time, with morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts. You will monitor pool safety, perform emergency responses per protocol, and assist with training and swim instruction when needed.

Ideal candidates are at least 15 years old and hold current lifeguard certification (Red Cross or YMCA) with CPR/AED and First Aid. Certification reimbursement may be available after 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certification.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active surveillance of the pool area.
• Respond to emergencies immediately per YMCA policies and complete required reports.
• Maintain positive relationships with members and staff.
• Apply safety rules and guidelines for pool and aquatic areas.
• Keep accurate records as required by YMCA and State Health Department.
