Job summary

City of Westminster, CO is seeking an Hourly Lifeguard to ensure guest safety, monitor pool areas, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies at city facilities. The role requires availability evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum of 12 hours per week.

Candidates must complete StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Training (including first aid and CPR/AED) within 30 days of hire and pass a swim test. This is a part-time, on-site position within the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Ability to pass StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Training, which also includes first aid and CPR/AED training within 30 days of hire
• Must pass a required swim test during the interview process
• Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Monitors activities in swimming pool areas to prevent drownings, injuries, or accidents
• Responds appropriately to emergencies
• Provides quality swim lesson instruction
• Participates in all maintenance and cleaning duties including, but not limited to pool, locker rooms, deck, and surrounding facilities
• Effectively enforces pool rules while following department guest host philosophy
• Participates in and attends monthly in-service trainings
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance
• Instructs swimming classes of various age groups and ability levels
• Maintains records of activity levels and usage
