Job summary

Waukee Community School District Natatorium in Waukee, IA seeks a part-time lifeguard to ensure pool safety and supervise aquatics operations. Immediate start.

Candidates must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid/CPR/AED, be at least 15 years old, and have citizenship or work eligibility. One year of experience is preferred; duties include surveillance, rule enforcement, incident response and reporting.

Qualifications

• Valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification (may obtain after hire).
• First Aid/CPR/AED certificate required (may obtain after hire).
• Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance and visually observe pool and area as directed.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations.
• Provide general information on pool operations as needed and caution swimmers regarding hazards.
• Respond to injuries/incidents with Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR as needed.
• Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
• Report unsafe acts or behaviors to the Aquatic Center Manager promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe pool/deck and facility and report safety issues.
• Perform pool chemical checks when required and maintain records.
