Job summary

The Patrick Henry Family YMCA in Virginia is seeking part-time lifeguards to help keep swimmers safe and save lives at our pool. We welcome certified lifeguards or swimmers willing to become lifeguards with training provided. Competitive pay ranges from $15 to $17 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities include monitoring the pool, enforcing rules, and responding to emergencies with professionalism and care. Training and support are offered to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
• Current lifeguard certification from ARC or Ellis Lifeguard required, O2 preferred.
• The YMCA will train candidates who meet basic swim requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of pool patrons and program participants.
• Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies.
• Provide courteous customer service and assist with swim activities.
