Job summary

Powhatan Family YMCA in Virginia is seeking enthusiastic, part-time lifeguards or swimmers who want to become lifeguards. You will help save lives and keep patrons safe in our pool environment.

Candidates must hold CPR, AED, First Aid and a lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or Ellis). The Y will train those who meet basic swim requirements if not yet certified.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR, AED, First Aid and either American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard certification.
• The Y will train interested candidates who meet basic swim requirements if not already certified.
• Must be at least 15 years old.

Responsibilities

• Qualified lifeguards will be responsible for the safety of the members and program participants.
• Maintain vigilance on the pool area and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Enforce pool rules and assist with safety and rescue as needed.
