Job summary

The City of Astoria seeks lifeguards for the Astoria Aquatic Center to cover Fall/Winter with potential for spring 2027. Positions are part-time, with at least three days weekly and roughly 15–20 hours per week, per center needs.

Ideal candidates will monitor swimmers, perform rescues, provide first aid, and maintain clean facilities while upholding safety policies and delivering quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Available to work at least three days per week.
• Possession of or ability to pass Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification with CPR & First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patrons in and around the water with vigilant scanning to identify hazards.
• Perform water rescues using safe techniques when needed.
• Provide first aid and emergency care until EMS arrives.
• Enforce facility safety rules and educate patrons on safety.
