Job summary

Manatee County Government seeks an On-Call OPS Pool Lifeguard to safeguard swimmers at Lincoln Aquatic Center and G.T. Bray Aquatics Center. You will perform rescues, CPR, and First Aid, enforce rules, and assist with basic pool maintenance.

Applicants must be at least 16, hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (Deep Water), CPR-Professional Rescuer/AED and First Aid, plus reliable transportation. Flexible schedules include weekends/holidays; part-time year-round role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water safety and lifesaving procedures.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to react quickly, calmly and appropriately in emergencies.
• Ability to see and hear sufficiently to ensure patron safety.
• Swimming and rescue skills; First Aid proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of the aquatic facility and patrons.
• Enforce county rules and maintain order for patron safety.
• Perform rescues, CPR, and First Aid when needed.
• Keep locker rooms and pool areas clean and sanitary.
• Log data and complete incident reports.
