Job summary

City of Eden Prairie is seeking a Lifeguard for part-time work at the Eden Prairie Community Center and local beach locations. The role supports safety, with shifts typically 5 to 20 hours per week, plus potential 30–40 hours in summer. Starts at $15.00/hour, with training available upon hire.

Responsibilities include supervising pool and beach operations, conducting safety checks, and assisting with swimming lessons. Ability to swim 500 yards and pass pre-employment requirements is needed.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certifications are required for this position, but you do not have to be certified to apply.
• Must be 15 years of age.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to swim a minimum of 500 yards and lift/move objects.
• Pre-employment checks including reference checks and background verification are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise beaches/pools operations to ensure safety and maintain a clean, well‑maintained facility.
• Enforce all beach/pool policies in a consistent, professional manner.
