Job summary

Oregon State University’s Recreational Sports is seeking a Lifeguard for up to 24 hours per week. The role requires current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications.

You will monitor pool safety, respond to emergencies, and uphold high standards of customer service and teamwork on a dynamic campus recreation team. Applicants must maintain lifeguard certifications, complete required forms, and work during winter,

Qualifications

• Valid lifeguard certifications required before employment.
• Experience as a lifeguard and customer service ability required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills essential.
• Criminal history checks and youth program checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and prevent hazardous situations to avoid emergencies.
• Respond to emergencies per the facility's EAP.
• Complete incident and rescue report forms promptly.
• Maintain lifeguard station and assist with facility upkeep.
• Follow safety policies and maintain water safety standards.
• Support daily operations with Aquatic Coordinator and Senior staff.
• Attend required trainings and maintain certifications.
