Job summary

Qualifications

• Possess current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED-PR, and First Aid certification.
• Complete the new hire evaluation.
• Pass required skill and water fitness evaluations and audits.
• Regularly attend and participate in meetings, in‑service trainings, and skills checks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety, rescue, and care of all patrons in and around the pool at all times of operation.
• Ensure facility security, and readiness of safety equipment.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, including but not limited to governmental and public relations, legal and regulatory compliance, and supervising the aquatics facility.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of, and comply with, the facility rules, policies and procedures, and consistently and appropriately enforce them as outlined in the Aquatic Staff Manual.
• Maintain your physical conditioning to remain rescue ready.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Assist with pool configuration changes and event transitions.
• Consistently project a positive, professional image and always provide consistent high quality customer service.
• Keep up to date with staff correspondence and updates.
• Consistently demonstrate positive, effective communication skills.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
