The Animal Medical Center of Seattle, WA is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and ICU team! We are offering up to a $5,000 Hiring Bonus for Licensed Veterinary Technicians!

Schedule:
  • Monday-Wednesday, 7am-7pm or Tuesday-Friday 8am-6pm
Perks:
  • We are offering up to $5000 hiring bonus for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant.

Compensation:
  • Compensation is based on experience and skill level. $30 – 40/hr plus a swing or overnight differential. Veterinary Technician Specialists starting at $40/hr plus a swing or overnight differential.
  • Full-time employees receive competitive hourly compensation; health; dental; vision; 401k; with a company sponsored match; therapy and counseling services; life insurance; Employee Assistance Program; long and short term disability; discounted pet care after 30 days of employment; paid time off; reimbursement of licensing fees; uniform allowance; $2000 annual CE for VTS plus accruing PTO, $1,250 annual CE for LVTs plus accruing PTO and $500 for VAs.
Summary:

As a Veterinary Neurology Technician at Animal Medical Center of Seattle, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary neurologist in delivering specialized care to animals with neurological disorders. Your responsibilities will include closely monitoring patients with neurological conditions, assisting in various diagnostic procedures, such as MRI & CT, performing anesthesia, administering treatments and medications, educating pet owners about their animals' conditions, treatment options, and home care, and working closely with veterinarians, other veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive care.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Strong anesthesia skills are required for this position.
  • Experience in advanced diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT) is a plus but not required.
  • Displays competency in the general knowledge and nursing skills required to care for critically ill patients.
  • Ability to problem solve using common sense and the ability to make decisions in order to follow through on DVM orders.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and the ability to learn new veterinary based software applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful work environment. Must be able to always maintain professionalism and composure.
  • Able to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and the public in a professional manner.
  • Able to handle difficult clients.
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
Education and Experience:
  • AA degree or BA/BS degree from an accredited veterinary technician program.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
  • Experience in a specialty practice setting preferred. Experience in neurology is preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
  • VTS credentialed technicians or those interested in pursuing VTS credentials are encouraged to apply.
