Job description



The Animal Medical Center of Seattle, WA is hiring a part-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and ICU team!

AMC Seattle is committed to supporting the professional development of its staff members by facilitating access to Continuing Education (CE) opportunities and offers a competitive CE allowance ($500-$2000 per year) and accruing PTO based on credentials. AMC Seattle also supports the professional growth of their LVTs pursuing their VTS through financial and mentorship support.

Schedule:
  • Monday-Wednesday, 12pm-8pm (possible Friday shifts if needed)
  • Part-time
Perks:
  • Up to $5000 hiring bonus for full-time Licensed Veterinary Technicians or Experienced Veterinary Assistants.
  • Relocation reimbursement available!

Compensation:

  • Compensation depends on experience and skill level. $30 – 40+/hr plus a swing or overnight differential. Veterinary Technician Specialists start at $40/hr plus differential.

  • Full-time employees receive competitive hourly pay, health, dental, vision, 401k with company match, therapy and counseling services, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, disability coverage, discounted pet care after 30 days, paid time off, licensing fee reimbursement, uniform allowance, $2000 annual CE for VTS plus PTO, $1250 for LVTs, and $500 for VAs.

Summary:
As a Veterinary Neurology Technician at Animal Medical Center of Seattle, you will support our veterinary neurologist in delivering specialized care to animals with neurological disorders. Your responsibilities include monitoring neurological patients, assisting with diagnostic procedures like MRI & CT, performing anesthesia, administering treatments, educating pet owners, and collaborating with the veterinary team to provide comprehensive care.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Strong anesthesia skills are required.
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT) is a plus but not required.
  • Competency in nursing skills and caring for critically ill patients.
  • Problem-solving skills, following DVM orders, and decision-making abilities.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn veterinary software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment maintaining professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills with team and clients.
  • Ability to handle difficult clients.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Education and Experience:
  • AA or BA/BS from an accredited veterinary technician program.
  • Minimum two years in a veterinary hospital.
  • Experience in specialty practice or neurology preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, arithmetic skills.
  • VTS credentialed or pursuing VTS encouraged to apply.
