Job summary

The City of McKinney's Library is looking for a part-time Library Shelver to sort and shelve library materials, assist with rotating displays, and support daily library operations. Under general supervision, you will help maintain orderly shelves and ensure materials are accessible to patrons.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or are currently enrolled, basic computer skills, and the ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED, or currently enrolled in High School.
• Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and shelves library materials.
• Assists with development, improvement and implementation of policies, procedures, workflows, and organizational goals and objectives.
• Assists with planning, implementing and maintaining rotating displays of library material.
• Facilitates and participates as an active member on cross-functional teams.
• Maintains proper order and distribution of library materials on the shelves.
