Job summary

Morris Area Public Library is seeking a part-time Technical Services Specialist to catalog and process materials, ensuring items are added accurately and made accessible to patrons.

The role involves OCLC/Illinet ILL processing, data for IPLAR, and creating admin lists from Sierra and Decision Center, with supervision by the Head of Technical Services. Strong organization and databases experience are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years of previous experience preferred.
• Library cataloging and/or processing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience with library databases and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Organize and inventory new items per library policy with attention to detail.
• Reconcile purchase orders and ensure proper deliveries.
• OCLC and Illinet InterLibrary Loan processing.
• Collect data for yearly IPLAR report.
• Create lists from Sierra and Decision Center for admin use.
• Catalog and process new materials (books, A/V, Library of Things, etc.).
• Interpret and resolve PrairieCat reports.
