Job summary

Knutson Memorial Library (KML) of Coon Valley is seeking a creative, community-minded Library Director. The role oversees budgeting, programming, staff management, and promotion while guiding collection development and technology use.

The part-time position requires 28 hours weekly with daytime, evenings, and Saturdays. Candidates should have a relevant degree and Wisconsin library credentials, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred with Wisconsin Grade 3 Library Certification sought.
• Experience in budgeting, staff supervision, and community programming preferred.
• Strong customer service and ability to guide volunteers and manage collections.

Responsibilities

• Implement library policies set by the board.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons.
• Prepare and oversee the annual library budget.
• Recruit, hire, evaluate, and supervise staff.
• Manage and develop the library’s collection.
• Develop and run diverse programs addressing community needs.
• Promote library programs and services.
• Recruit and guide volunteers.
• Utilize technology for circulation, promotion, programming, and other functions.
• Manage the library facility.
