Job summary

The Tuxedo Park Library is seeking a part-time Library Clerk to assist patrons at the circulation desk and help with simple reference questions in a friendly, public setting.

Applicants should be computer literate and able to lift and move books, carts, and materials as needed. The schedule includes weekday and weekend hours with occasional fill-in shifts; hourly rate is $17.50, with Sundays time-and-a-half. One week paid vacation and sick time are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in library or customer service desirable.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, and push heavy book carts.

Responsibilities

• Staff the circulation desk
• Assist customers with simple reference questions and use of library equipment
• Link AV items, fiction, and other materials as needed
• Performs repairs on books and other materials
• Collect and distribute mail
• Shelve and maintain materials in correct order
• Process interlibrary loan items received from and sent to other libraries
• Other duties as assigned
