Job summary

The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library of Washington Township in Sewell, NJ seeks a Part Time Library Assistant to work an average of fourteen hours per week. The schedule includes Mondays from 10 AM – 4 PM, Wednesdays from 9:30 AM – 3 PM, and three out of four Sundays per month from 12:30 PM – 5 PM.

Pay is $17.58 per hour with accrual sick time and enrollment in the NJ pension system. The library covers NJ Library Association memberships for staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers and learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to library patrons.
• Charge and discharge materials following policy and procedures.
• Issue and renew library cards; process holds and requests.
• Assist patrons with searches and library programs; answer calls.
