Job summary

Kansas City Kansas Community College is seeking a part-time Circulation Clerk for the Learning Commons. You will staff the circulation desk, check materials in and out, assist with basic technology, answer calls, and help patrons navigate the library.

The role requires reliability and a focus on hospitality and service excellence, with afternoon and evening coverage in a busy academic library setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of demonstrated experience in a library, bookstore, or retail setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Uses the library's ILS to check materials in and out and manage patron accounts.
• Processes new and returned materials; labels, sorts, and shelves items.
• Assists with consortium lending and courier coordination.
• Answers phone calls and schedules Learning Commons room reservations.
• Maintains Course Reserves and keeps materials organized and accessible.
• Helps students with basic computer issues (logging into Self Service, printing).
• Collaborates with colleagues to provide timely library support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
