The City of Carlsbad is seeking a part-time Production Technician to support the Library & Cultural Arts department. You will handle theater and live performance sound, lighting, video recording and digital streaming for events at venues like Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium and the Gowland Meeting Room.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to an associate degree in theater or related field, or technical/vocational coursework.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience with production and presentation equipment.
• Ability to operate AV and presentation technologies and learn new tools quickly.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and support audio, video, lighting and digital streaming for events.
• Safeguard equipment through proper use and adherence to standards.
• Interact with staff and the public to provide technical support.
• Provide expert advice to users to ensure positive audience experiences.
• Support video archives and assist with event safety and operations.
