Metropolitan Community College is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to support patrons in using research resources and library tools. The role involves assisting with circulation, cataloging, and interlibrary loan, while providing excellent customer service across a diverse campus community.

The position requires an Associate's Degree, one year of related experience, and willingness to work 28 hours per week on the Fort Omaha Campus. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• Instructs patrons in using online library catalogs and databases to locate information.
• Answers reference questions and provides assistance to patrons.
• Checks materials in/out and explains circulation policies.
• Registers customers for new library cards and renews cards.
• Accepts fines and balances cash drawer; prepares deposits.
• Assists with interlibrary loan, reserves, and cataloging tasks.
• Prepares purchase requests and organizes periodical collections.

Responsabilités

• Stays current with developments in library and information fields.
• Promotes library services to faculty, staff and students.
• Assists in maintaining library environment and equipment.
• Provides guidance to work-study students when needed.
