Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager. You will help set plan-o-grams, assist customers, and maintain store presentation while protecting assets.

The role involves unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, operating the register, and ensuring a clean, organized shopping environment. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform math calculations (add/sub/mult/div/percent).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and maintain shelves.
• Order zones and drop shipments as assigned by Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Keep front end clean; assist in sidewalk displays.
• Operate cash register; total purchases and bag items.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
• Ensure cashier accountability and security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
