Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Stocker who will lead the store in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will help set up plan-o-grams, stock shelves, assist customers, and safeguard assets while providing top-notch service in a fast-paced environment.

You will unload trucks, stock displays, process purchases, and maintain a clean, organized store. Strong math, cash-handling, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising presentation guidance.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and maintain displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanlines, including floors, restrooms and stockroom.
• Greet customers entering the store and provide help as needed.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, and make change.
• Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager.
