Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support daily store operations and lead in the absence of management. You will help unload trucks, stock and replenish, assist customers, and operate the register with accuracy and courtesy.

In this role, you will maintain plan-o-gram compliance, rotate merchandise, and ensure a clean, organized store. A high school diploma and basic supervisory exposure are preferred, with a focus on safety and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves as directed.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes per store process.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and face shelves, and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage plan-o-gram maintenance.
• Operate cash register, collect payment, and provide change.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and floor standards.
• Open/close the store under guidance of Area Manager; handle refunds as needed.
