Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a Cashier and Stocker to support store operations and lead customer service in the absence of management. The role involves stocking, cashier duties, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.

From unloading shipments to assisting customers, you will help ensure accurate transactions, plan-o-gram execution, and safe store operations while upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Experience operating an IBM cash register or similar system.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face items on shelves; build displays.
• Maintain clean store, front end, and restock areas.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register; collect payment and bag items.
• Open/close the store under supervision as needed.
