The Certified Lead Preschool Teacher position at YMCA of the Lowcountry is a part-time, non-exempt role offering up to 30 hours per week in Ridgeland, SC. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is required.
• Minimum required early childhood training hours or credentials.
• Background check clearance.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children (6 weeks–5 years preferred; 2 years-5 years required).
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to children, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilités

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the South Carolina Early Learning Standards.
• Create a structured, engaging classroom environment that supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Use positive guidance techniques to support behavior and classroom management.
• Maintain active visual and auditory supervision at all times and follow DSS ratios and safety guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with families and provide regular updates on child progress.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports, and child development documentation and ensure licensing standards.
