Job summary

The YMCA of the Lowcountry Inc is seeking a Certified Lead Preschool Teacher in Ridgeland, SC. You will provide a safe, nurturing learning environment aligned with state licensing and YMCA standards, guiding early development through a structured curriculum and positive guidance.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, supervising children, engaging families with progress updates, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Must meet South Carolina DSS requirements for Preschool/Childcare Teachers.
• Background check clearance.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Experience with preschool-aged children (6 weeks–5 years preferred; 2 years required).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with SC standards.
• Create a structured, engaging classroom supporting all developmental domains.
• Maintain active supervision and ensure safety and health guidelines.
• Engage families with progress updates and resources.
• Maintain accurate attendance and child development documentation.
